Forest Wallpapers: Storms, Snow and Woodland Water

Lightning, autumn reflections, a snowy mountain and a green waterfall give this woodland collection four colour moods. Choose the storm for contrast, the pavilion for warm leaves, or the pale peak for a simpler winter screen.

Rain clouds and lightning

A bright fork of lightning stands above a dark tree line. Heavy blue-grey clouds fill most of the upper frame. The open sky keeps the light separate from the trees, while the forest anchors the bottom of the picture.

Autumn lake and garden pavilion

Red and gold leaves surround a small wooden pavilion by still water. Its reflection adds a second shape below the building. Preserve both when you crop so the water remains part of the scene.

Snowy peak and mountain scenery

The snowy peak uses pale slopes against a cooler sky. It has fewer close details than the autumn scene. Check your icon labels against the light areas at the brightness you normally use.

Woodland creeks and waterfalls

A waterfall runs through a green gorge, with rock and foliage beside the water. For animals among flowers at a creek, browse animal wallpapers. The waterfall's strong vertical line makes it a useful focal point for a wide background.

Forest stories and learning

Choose dense green foliage, an open storm sky or autumn colour for your desktop. The US Forest Service conservation education resources offer further reading about forests and their environments.

The background picture guide explains the layout controls. Compare other wallpaper subjects, 4K scenes for larger monitors or backgrounds for a laptop screen to choose your next picture. Use our tree-and-reflection crop preview, or compare illustrated outdoor anime scenery.

Download the JPG files

Choose 1920x1080 for a Full HD screen or 3840x2160 for a 4K screen. Both files use a 16:9 frame. The 4K label says upscaled when the image has been enlarged. Read image credits and personal-use terms for reuse details.
